On November 15, 2016, at Bush Bush Wildlife Sanctuary in Trinidad, one Guianan Trogon (T. violacues) was observed flying from a perch to the trail in order to feed.  It is unclear what the bird was ingesting- plant material or insects, or grit.  The bird appeared to be ingesting the soil, as no insects, seeds or fruits were visible from our vantage point or upon inspection of it site after the bird retreated.
